DECEMBER'S ALMOST HERE!

A reminder we are inviting students to participate in the entire advent season by
attending Hope Center’s main worship service on Sunday mornings.  This will last through the entire month of December and we will be kicking off our Sunday program again in January.

To start out our month we are inviting the entire community of Hope Center to join us for our regular pancake Sunday on 12/1 between 1st & 2nd services from 10:15 am~10:45 am.  At that time we will also have our Youth Shack open for some great holiday gift buying opportunities.

Students are also encouraged to be a part of the Main Service by volunteering in several areas of worship including being a greeter in the lobby before services, reading scripture, help with communion on 12/1, being part of the prayer team, or helping on the tech or lighting team.

If your student is interested in volunteering contact Steve or e-mail the youthassistant@hopecenter.cc.

I hope all our Impact families have enjoyed their Impact summer break!  Impact will be kicking off next Wednesday, July 31st with an Impact event night at Hope Center from 7pm to 8:30pm.  Impact will meet on Wednesday nights through August at Hope Center from 7pm to 8:30.

We are canceling our Weekend Event with Fair Oaks.  Fair Oaks didn't have the numbers to host the full event and since July flew by we felt it best to host our own kick-off fall event (a sleep over at the church) later in the season.

With the transition of Paul leaving us, who helps publish our calendars every season the fall calendars will be a little late, but the Impact staff, youth assistant, and myself will be putting it together over the next couple of weeks.  Watch for it to be published soon!

Blessings!

30HF Launch

Yesterday, Sunday Feb 3rd, we announced and launched 30 Hour Famine! Students were given their Fammy Pack which had information about the event, fundraising info, and found out if they were on Team Fish or Team Loaf. We will be collecting cans and bottles again to help raise more funds.
This year our theme is Feeding 5,000, here is the video from 30 Hour Famine:

Last year was the first time we used online donations and we were completely blown away at the great response. Students can join the Hope Center team and raise funds online, which is often easier than having to remind people to write a check. Here is the link to our donation website http://goo.gl/3Tk8e

Students need to turn in $10 and have their yearlong permission slip turned in to do this event.

Letter from Steve

Hello parents,

I trust that the new year finds you with a renewed eagerness and excitement to take on the challenges and tasks that 2013 has in store for us.  Here we are at the beginning of the New Year,  a time for new beginnings and renewed ideas. I would like to share with you some of the direction I feel God is leading us with Impact.

Since the start of the new year I've been implementing Journey curriculum  into our Wednesday night Impact lessons, to familiarize students with the books of the Bible and the time line of events before beginning our lessons on Wednesday night, through the Way I'm Wired book.   As a seconded part of this teaching plan I am kicking off a Bible memory verse program, where students will be able to win prizes and get rewards and even discounts for upcoming events. This month's memory verse is the Impact key verse COLOSSIANS 2:6-7.  Students who memorize this verse before  the upcoming roller-skate sleep over (February 16th-17th) will get a Pac of 5 stick gum or Mentose candy and will enter a raffle to win a $15.00 iTunes gift card.

Wishing all of you a Happy New Year on this 3rd day of 2013! We hope that you have a had a wonderful Christmas season with your families. We are looking forward to this new year of ministry with your Junior Higher!

We will be starting the year off with small groups resuming on Wednesday, January 9th from 7:00pm to 8:30! As for the roller skating sleep-over on the winter calendar I am reminding you all, that this event has been postponed, due to a collage group snow retreat planned for this weekend. Since all of our volunteer staff are collage age, we felt that this time away for them to connect with fellow believers is crucial to their spiritual growth. Thanks for your understanding and watch for this sleep-over to appear on the next calendar!
